We were awarded a rare opportunity to design a two-unit dwelling in Vancouver’s historic Strathcona neighbourhood. Our development involved a complete demolition of the existing old building. This doesn’t happen often because most homes are part of the Strathcona neighbourhood legacy. With that said, it was prudent we capture the historic architectural features for the new development and reflect the silhouette of existing nearby buildings. In addition, we also combed through the zoning bylaws to find a clause that would allow our design to reach the maximum floor area possible.
